TrivandrumLife>> A foreign national was found dead in an apartment in the city on Friday. Forty-eight-year-old Sarojini Gepken, who was settled in the city for the past 11 years, was found dead at her flat at SFS Capital, Vellayambalam. She hails from Amsterdam.
Police had received a distress call from her friend, a lawyer, who informed that she was neither answering the doorbell nor responding to phone calls. The police rushed to the spot, broke open the door and found her lying unconscious on the bed. They took her to hospital in an ambulance, but the doctors declared her dead on arrival.
Gepken is the daughter of the late Shivakumar Harith, an Anglo Indian by origin, and Federica of Netherlands. Gepken had first visited the city in 2006. She met her lawyer friend for sorting out issues with her visa and soon got into a relationship with him. She became a resident of the city from 2009 onwards while occasionally visiting Amsterdam to meet her mother and sister.
The Funeral will be held only after conducting Covid test and post mortem.
On Wednesday night, a foreign devotee of Mata Amritanandamayi, who was staying at the latter’s Math at Vallikkavu in Kollam, allegedly jumped to her death from a multi-storey building on Wednesday night. Fiona Shepard, 45, hailing from the United Kingdom is the deceased.
