TrivandrumLife>> Social activist Daya Bai, filmmaker and lyricist Sreekumaran Thampi, Kathakali artiste Nelliyode Vasudevan Namboodiri and scientist Dr. CS Baskaran Nair were declared winners of the 4th Alive Golden Year Awards. The recognition instituted by Alive Foundation comprises a citation and an award which will be presented to the winners next year. The award was announced as part of the International Day of Older Persons on October 1.
Alive, a complete ageing solutions company, based in Trivandrum has for the past four years been recognising the seniors who are active in various walks of life and contributing to the society, through The Alive Golden Year Awards. The awards are a testament to their spirit of active ageing thereby inspiring the next generation.
The winners were selected from the public nominations from their respective areas.
As part of the International Day of Older Persons observance, a three-day cultural competition for the senior citizens across the city was also organised. Over 50 senior citizens participated in the online cultural competition, Alive Golden Fest, which included a variety of competitions like singing, painting, story writing, quiz etc. The prizes for the winners of Alive Golden Fest will be distributed next year.
