TrivandrumLife.com>> After a 41-year-old staff was tested positive for Covid 19 on Friday, the Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre has taken precautionary measures to prevent spread among its staff. The Manacaud-native has been showing Covid 19 symptoms since June 15 and was declared positive on Friday. Another retired VSSC staff too was tested positive on Friday.
Around 13 staff of VSSC, including 5 permanent and 8 contractor workers, who had contacts with the person have been asked to go on self-quarantine on Friday. The VSSC has handed over their details to health department. Though a Manacaud-native auto driver is on treatment for Covid, the VSSC staff didn’t not seem to have interacted with him. Another 3 persons in a family, who are relatives of the autodriver, tested positive on Friday.
The VSSC disinfected its office and premises on Saturday. The last date of working of the 41-year-old staff was June 15.
