Titanium Oil Leak: District administration imposes two-day ban on fishing, tourism

TrivandrumLife>> District administration imposed a two-day restriction on fishing and tourist activities off the Veli, Vettucaud and Sanghmukham coast due to the oil spill from state-owned Travancore Titanium Limited. Oil spill was alerted by fishermen in the wee hours of February 10. The glass furnace of the factory broke and the furnace oil reached the sea through a drain. Prime Minister to inaugurate Aruvikkara drinking water plant

TrivandrumLife>> Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to inaugurate the 75 mld (million litre per day) treatment plant at Aruvikkara this month. Funded by Centrally sponsored Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT), the project was executed by city-based Chicago Constructions International Private Limited.
