SPRDH 2010 By SCT

Sree Chitra Thirunal College of Engineering brings to you SPRDH  ’10, an inter-collegiate technical and cultural extravaganza.The venue for this mega event is the the SCT campus itself.The technical events cater to the interests of all branches and are scheduled on the 11th and the 12th of March.

Technical highlights include the Aeromodelling  expo, the YEZDI bike expo and the Biotech expo. Also a significant feature is the obstacle race where the riders are to tackle a pathway of various obstacles to compete for the prize. Presentations by eminent figures such as Dr.Achuth Sankar S.Nair (Director, Dept. BIOINFORMATICS-University of Kerala, Karyavattom) feature in the schedule for the Biotechnology Dept. The automobile Dept has yet another different contest, the Sloth Monster, where the slowest bike riders compete to race in the minimum possible speed to contend for the grand prize, which will favour the slowest.  Other events such as circuit debugging, gaming, counterstrike,quizzes etc characterize the technicals.

The Cultural events, scheduled for the 13th and the 14th,  promise an out-of-the-world extravaganza. Drama, Fashion-Shows, Dance, Painting, Speaking and  Music are the various event categories. Attractive cash prizes of Rs 1,50,000 for the Choreo night, and Rs 15000 for the Fashion show, among many others form the most compelling features of the festival.

Stunts by the Ghost Ryderz on March 12, and a musical night by Volume, Trivandrum’s premium fusion music band are other titillating highlights.

The end of the event is marked by a performance by the famed band Udaan, all set to set the stage on fire, on March 14th.
