Reality Roadmap to Trivandrum by Ajay
Trivandrum have a few angels trying hard to spread the good will on Trivandrum. Ajay Prasad (@ajaypp ) can be considered as one of the best in that category. I came across an interesting article by Ajay in Hindu Property plus, which exposes the reality in real estate market in Trivandrum.
As he says to Hindu:
Much of the real estate activity within the central urban areas, making up most of the Corporation area, is driven by government, commercial and residential demand. The reigning luxury residential hubs in the Kowdiar, Vellayambalam and Sasthamangalam areas will continue to attract premium segment customers. Launches by a number of leading builders in this zone are evidence of the ongoing demand, even at prices of several thousand rupees a square foot. Several apartment projects which have integrated retail space and standalone commercial buildings will add much-needed retail area to this zone.
The sheer volume of residential demand in the city of well over a million people has encouraged the spread of residential projects to new areas within the core urban area, such as Pattom, Kumarapuram, Vattiyoorkavu, Jagathy, Peroorkada and Karamana.
Typically, these projects tend to be less expensive than the ones in Kowdiar or Vellayambalam, but have all the facilities that one tends to associate with upmarket apartments.
Villa projects are coming up in more peripheral areas such as Vattiyoorkavu and Karakulam.
