Moods Planet – The One Stop Shop For Contraceptives

If you haven’t noticed yet, there is a shop in Pulimoodu Kesari Buildings which can make say aww in surprise. It’s the Mood’s Planet, if I am right the only shop in kerala which is dedicated to contraceptives products. We talked with the HLL and here is what they have to say about their initiative on Moods Planet.

MOODS PLANET was launched in the heart of Kerala’s capital city by HLL Lifecare Ltd., an organization under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare of the Government of India, as a ‘one-stop shop for contraceptives’ on 16th March 2009. This outlet is the first-of-its-kind by a contraceptive manufacturer to provide the widest range of contraceptive products under one roof to its customers.

The range on offer here include a wide range of premium quality contraceptive aids such as condoms, female condoms, contraceptive pills and emergency contraceptive pills – under the brand name Moods (18 variants), Velvet, Saheli and Preventol. The objective of setting up this retail outlet is to increase the accessibility of quality condoms and other contraceptives for HLL’s customers in the capital city.

Moods Planet also features an easy to use Condom Vending Machine to provide to its customers Moods Condoms – on a 24X7 mode. The outlet also handles enquiries for HLL contraceptive range and advice on the usage of contraceptives.
Within a short span of time, Moods Planet has emerged as the most popular outlet for contraceptives in the city attracting customers of all age groups.
HLL Lifecare Limited (formerly Hindustan Latex Limited), is today a multi product, multi location, organization with a global presence. Its activities range from manufacture and export of contraceptives, hospital products and women’s healthcare products to developing the nation’s medical infrastructure, and implementing several socially relevant initiatives.
HLL plans to roll out more outlets in different parts of the State in near future, for the information of the public and to provide greater access to its range of products.

The high level of interest in this customer friendly outlet for contraceptives is evident from the fact that Moods Planet was inaugurated by Thiruvananthapuram City Mayor Sri C. Jayan Babu in the presence of Sri Panniyan Ravindran MP, Sri M.P. Achuthan MP, Sri V.Surendran Pillai, MLA, Smt. Sheela Thomas IAS, Secretary to the Chief Minister, Kerala, and Sri M. Ayyappan, Chairman & Managing Director, HLL Lifecare Limited.
