Error 11 – An Interrogation

Rock bands are not alien to this city where we have seen many great bands rocking for Trivandrum. Error 11 is one among them, which was spawned during their Engineering college life in SCT as Rubburband. Rubburband is one band which rocked college fests and all rock shows in their reign. In their new avatar – Error 11 haven’t changed much except the choice of music being played.

TvmLife caught the Error 11 members with a set of questions and here is an excerpt from it:

Error 11 ! The name is unusual for a rock band. So was the previous one – Rubburband. Why you came up with such different names?
Catchy names spread like fire, afterall its not the name of the band that makes the band famous but the music they make will speak for the band. And to show this to the world we make the name simple yet different

Who all are in the Team ?
The line up comprises of the following people
Hari – Drummer (Harry Drummer)
Rahul – Bass (Raoulthe bassie)
Preeth – Lead guitar + Backing vocals (Preetucci)
Louis – Vocals + Guitar (Lui)
Sunil – Ex guitarist (Sun)

Thats some team! How long you have been working together?
We started off Rubburband back in our SCT college days playing all over South India, and has won quite a few titles which includes “Best College Band in Kerala” (for MTV Campus rock idols). Now since we are no more a college band and focused more on mainstream rock, we believe in original music to the true sense of the word.

Do you feel different when the band changed from Rubburband to Error 11?
As error-11 we are a matured and polished band which has found its own sound. Rubburband used to cover almost all genres of music as we used to play every song that we liked (right from Bryan Adams to Cradle of Filth). error-11 is more of a grunge/alternative band which believes more in experimental music.

We love hearing everything from you on a show. But which one you love most to play out in a show?
Our favourite track is our own comp “Ride Alone” which talks about how boldly we should face the journey of life which is full of surprises.

How do you feel the pub playing different from a stage show, excluding the booz effect?
We feel more close and more connected to the crowd when we play in a pub. And of course the energy levels we witness in a pub are on the higher side. However stage shows are the places where we get to perform to a larger crowd.

What you think about the crowd in Trivandrum? Are they rocking enough for Error 11?
We are a tvm based band and has seen the tvm rock scene getting better day by day. The fact that even schools have rock bands these days are definitely a booster for us to believe in tvm which has never let us down.

It’s the competition which make every band perfect.  Do we have enough
bands in Trivandrum to raise a competition with Error 11?
There are lots of bands in tvm and the innocuous competition that we share is what keeps the tvm rock scene up and healthy!

As a rock band, do you have any own-composition? Or are you cooking something? Can we have a teaser?
Error-11 has 3 originals and currently we are working on the fourth one. We are planning to do our recording in ’10 along with our favourite Rubburband originals. So you can expect our teasers pretty soon.

So, when and where Trivandrum can rock with Error 11?
The next event in line  is for Muslim Association College of Engineering. This show is gonna happen at Nishagandhi on 15th March evening and we hope to see a huge crowd turn up for the event. Apart from that we will be playing once in Purple Lounge every month. Watch this space for the dates

The tvm rock scene is on its track to the next level of music, and we are privilaged to be a part of it.
