Avatar In 3D: Releasing 18th December in Trivandrum
The entire world is waiting for the release of another epic from James Cameroon – Avatar. Spending a whooping 1200 crores INR, the movie is made in two versions, 3D and 2D. Where the infrastructure is available, 3D version of the movie will be presented. Our own Sreepadmanabha will be showing the 3D version of the movie from 18th December. Ticket price will be around 80 Rs. considering the price of 3D glasses which is around 5000 Rs for a pair. Apart from Sree Padmanabha in Trivandrum, Crown in Calicut and Sreedhar in Ernakulam will be presenting Avatar in its 3D version.
Speaking about 3D movies, people here will think about “My Dear Kutti Chaathan” which was the first 3D movie in India. The 2D films now have more FX than that. So forget those experience. Avatar was shot using the fusion digital 3D camera developed by Cameron and Vince Pace, the movie’s director of photography, over a period of 10 years. The glasses use active 3D filtering, which is synchronized with the frames through IR (Infrared). Yea, the old green/red cellophane paper glasses are history!
Starring Sam Worthington, Sigourney Weaver and Zoe Saldana, the movie depicts the story of a wounded ex-marine thrust unwillingly into an effort to exploit an exotic moon rich in bio-diversity, who eventually crosses over to lead the indigenous race in a battle for survival.
So while you wait for the 18th, here is a teaser…In poor old 2D.

Cool! Havent watched a 3D movie in ages! The promos look good. Hope the movie is as good!
Awesome, saw the trailer when I went to see “Neelathamara”. Need to book to get first-day, first-show tickets. Way to go Sree Padmanabha. First Titanic and now this!
Cool, I’m coming home the very next day, man. Btw, beautiful work with this website, man. Nice tempo, keep it up.

havent watched a 3d yet
There is no 3D relaease here in my town…Wish I was in Trivandrum
The film is making some serious waves in Hollywood, the premieres were star-studded and they were all head over heels about it. No surprises, James Cameroon, the biggest budget for a Hollywood movie and the theme… Can’t wait to see!
The 3D version was released in the nearby town. Just back after watching it.. One word: Stupendous!
This is not any ordinary “I’ll wait for the DVD” movie. Watch in in 3D, its worth all the money. Cameroon is an ace!
I never tght that such a day would come. When movies released worldwide are released in tvm on the same day… Go TVM Go!!! Dying to get home n watch it on the big screen….
Movie is goona rock tvm…Ananthapadnabante thirumutathu Puthiya Avatar…
The film was not released in Trivandrum on 18th. Postponed to 19th due to technical reasons.
Ya I got the glasses . Are not like the ones for MY DEAR KUTICHATHAN. These are Infrared Filter Glasses.

Just back from watching the first show of the first day of Avatar 3D in Trivandrum. I agree with Scorpio, this is a visual spectacle, simply awesome! The 3D is more for detail and depth, rather than for in-your-face thrills, but the CGI has gone to a whole new level! 3D or 2D, make sure you catch it at the earliest!
I am waiting for tomorrow! Will see it somehow.:(
yes AVATAR was really awesome. But I still noticed people from TVM who could just not understand the movie and ran off the theatre in the middle of the movie. Mr. Manianpilla Raju who was there commented good for it.
Sunil, it may not be because they could not understand the movie. Even if they did, you cannot purely say they are from Tvm, and even if they are from TVM, as in every other cities in India, there are people who cannot understand English to an extend to understand the movie
Lol, how do you know the people who left were from Trivandrum or that they left because they didn’t understand the movie? Remember that this is the same Trivandrum which hosts India’s premier film festival where the fare is a lot more complex than Cameron’s epic.
Avatar had to be the most creative movie since Star Wars.
