Great work Jos !!

I am a resident of Trivandrum. I enjoyed every bit of your vision. It would be great to be around by 2035, if at least half of what you have envision comes true.

But that to happen, I think guys like you need to be on the committee or board of Planning.

I had hoped the twin city project with Barcelona would do Trivandrum much good. But I don’t see that happening now due to lack of vision in the authorities and people who want to delay progress just for some money the easy way. I feel the same way about Theerapadham project.

Any way hope you would be able to create many such futuristic projects and to see it reach fulfillment.

Its such as you read my thoughts! You appear to know a lot about this, like you wrote the guide in it or something. I believe that you could do with some p.c. to drive the message house a bit, however other than that, that is excellent blog. A great read. I will certainly be back.

Hi Mytvm,

You are absolutely right about the Vizhinjam harbour. That project can change the face of trivandrum as it will make our city a major hub in India for International trade and commerce.

However,the fact remains that our beloved capital city is not yet equipped to handle the demands that a major commercial port can exert.

If the port has to function properly and if it has to benefit Trivandrum, we have to plan for the road, rail & air connectivity from Vizhinjam for cargo movement; Accessible warehouses & Logistics facilities;Infrastructure facilities for business concerns etc.

In short, Vizhinjam has to be transfrmed into a well equipped commercial & logistics suburb from a sleepy fishing town. Also we have to plan for a high speed rail network for container transport from Vizhinjam.

All this calls for a broad vision, meticulous planning and time bound execution. Or else this dream project of Trivandrum can very well push the city into a total chaos with increased truck traffic, infrastructure bottle necks and environmental degradation.

Lets us hope and pray that our leaders and planners rise up to this challenge.

hey, its a super plan. Thanks for making such an awesome plan for tvm. Hope it all comes true in future.
Nowadays im seeing a lot of developements speeding up in tvm city. But my dream is to see Vizhinjam international harbour in full working flow,it will change the whole Trivandrum.
