200 New Bus Waiting Sheds In Trivandrum
City bus waiting sheds are getting an overhaul to match with the urban life style. 200 modern waiting sheds are to be deployed in the city with basic amenities like route map, bus timings and some music to relax the busy minds. Each of the new waiting shed will cost 1.25 lakhs and will be constructed along the 42Kms long road developed as a part of urban renewal plan.
These waiting sheds will match international standards with a uniform look and a common name which is yet to be decided. Name of bus stops will be displayed big enough so that the commuters can see the approaching stops. It will be colour coded with stops having halt for long distant buses will be coloured red and the rest will be coloured green.
Map of the city with current location highlighted will be placed inside the waiting shed along with Bus timing chart. A section to display public awareness messages and another one for advertisements will fill the rest of the space. Revenue from advertisements can be used for maintenance of these bus sheds.
The first one of the new bus shed will be constructed in Museum bus stop within 2 weeks.
